The Lucky Cat Wind Chime of Wealth (Porcelain)

Product Description
Lucky Cat + Wind Chime = Good Wealth Luck! The legend of the cute cat goes like this: In 17th century Japan, there was once very poor priest who lived with his cat, Tama, in a Tokyo temple. The priest was destitute, but like the good priest he was he always made sure there was enough food for his furry feline friend. Thus they were the best of friends. One fine day, a feudal lord came to take refuge under a big tree next to the temple. It was raining cats and dogs (no pun intended!) and though the tree provided shelter, it wasn't exactly rainproof. While he rested, he suddenly spied Tama beckoning him to come into the temple for better protection. The feudal lord ran to the temple, dodging rain-bullets... And as soon as he reached to safety, a lightning bolt struck the huge tree where the lord had previously taken refuge from! Thus the plucky-Lucky cat Tama saved his very life. From then on, Tama's clever little self has been reinvented into the the Lucky cat - an auspicious incarnation of Kuan Yin , the Goddess of Mercy! The Lucky Cat Wind Chime of Wealth is made of snowy white porcelain, with handpainted accents. One front paw is characteristically lifted in the classic 'beckoning' motion, and its belly is emblazoned with the Chinese character Bao (good fortune) in gold. This fat-cat wind chime is finished off with red Chinese silk cording and a plastic toggle with an illustration of a lucky cat and further Chinese characters which roughly translates to "abundant good luck" (denoting to protection) and "beckoning the arrival of fortune and treasures" (for good Wealth luck). This cute, kitschy item is perfect to hang in the Wealth location of 2007, which happens to be in the Southwest. Also suitable for office spaces and work areas!
