The mythical Money Toad, also known as the Chan Chu, is said to appear every full moon near homes which the residents will receive good news the very next day. This is usually in the form of wealth or monetary gain. This is because in ancient China, these mythical Toads are believed to be the bringer of fortune.
Commonly used today as symbols of wealth, the Money Toad is placed near cash registrars, receptions, managers' desk and offices of many successful businesses in Oriental countries. The Money Toad Wealh Pot is made of plaster, and is handpainted with bold colors. The toad depicted is fancy indeed - huge colorful eyes, green beard-whiskers, purple eyebrows, the works!
